2015 crop in Champagne - First review
Harvesting was early with a start on the 29th of August in the most precocious vineyards.
Heat and drought prevailed from late May through mid-August, causing significant water deficit in some areas, and consequentially a great heterogeneity of degrees and weight of the grapes all over the Champagne region.
These climatic conditions also prevented the vines from any fungal disease and contributed to their healthy state.
The musts exude a harmonious balance between degree and acidity.
Although it is too early to assess the quality of this new vintage, the first data builds up our hopes for a promising year.
However, let us wait for the results of the tastings due in June 2016.
