TASTING OF THE RETRIEVED BOTTLES
Following the unearthing of the buried
bottles, which had lain undisturbed in chalk for more than 118 years, Pol Roger
invited a select group of family members, friends and journalists to share the
momentous occasion. A few lucky people were invited to visit the cellars and
see the exact place where the bottles were discovered, then witness the
disgorgement of the old bottles before tasting them.
